var intro         = 'Ferrari 250GT by Drogo. <br><br>The chassis and engine numbers are 1717GT.  This chassis originally left the factory with a Pinninfarina Coupe body.  Subsequent to a crash in the early 1960’s the chassis was shortened by Vaccari in Modena and rebodied by Piero Drogo\'s Carrozzeria Sportscars with mechanical upgrade to full GTO specification.  Six carburetors, 5 speed gearbox, Watts link rear suspension, etc.  Approximately 8 years ago, a full restoration was carried out in the UK.  <br><br><br>Following the restoration the car appeared at the 2001 Goodwood Revival driven by David Clark & Stefan Johansson.  The car then passed from David Clark to Steve Tillack  in 2003.  Please note the two photos of the car at Laguna Seca during the 2004 Monterey Historic Races.   In the race group dominated by factory original Ferrari GTO’s, the Drogo ran third, a clear indication of its exceptional performance.
